Two-way radio upgrade – OVO Arena Wembley
Wirefr3 are delighted to confirm the successful completion of the digital two-way radio system upgrade at the OVO Arena Wembley.
After months of planning and collaboration with the team at the arena, the new system went live at the end of June 2025.
The upgrade sees improvements in all aspects of their two-way radio solution.
90 new hand-portable digital radios have been deployed in the form of the Motorola R7. This high tier radio delivers loud, clear audio and is rugged and dependable. With enhanced noise cancellation also, the R7 provides quality communication to all teams, such as Security, Medics and Front of House.
3 new Motorola SLR5500 repeaters have also been deployed, with the system running Capacity Plus. This will create sufficient capacity, especially on event nights, for all radio users to be able to communicate and coordinate clearly and successfully.
The antenna has also been upgraded to a 4 – stack dipole antenna array UHF which will provide improved coverage of the arena and the surrounding area.
Team Wirefr3 have partnered Wembley arena for over 10 years now. We look forward to continuing our relationship in the years ahead and for Wembley to produce more stunning shows.
