Two-way radios at Highclere Castle

Wirefr3 are delighted to have completed a digital two-way radio roll out for our client, the prestigious Highclere Castle.

We began our business relationship with Highclere c18 months ago.  Their objective was to upgrade the two-way radio radios and migrate to a digital system from their existing analogue arrangement.  This was to be completed over a phased basis.

With a days’ surveying and testing completed, it was decided that we would move to a Motorola solution.  The solution consisted of a Motorola SLR5500 repeater, SL1600 digital portable radios and DM4600e digital mobile radios.

The Motorola SLR5500 have given the estate a far greater and clearer radio coverage than before.  Points within the estate where there were known black spots are now reachable and there has been a noticeable improvement in the clarity of the voice calls.

The SL1600 digital portable radio have been warmly welcomed by the entire estates team.  The radio is discreet, simple to use and provides clear audio.  The radios are already well used and have allowed the estate to work even more efficiently with the likes of facilities, office, kitchen and car parking.

Three Estate vehicles have also been fitted with Motorola DM4600e mobile radios.  This allows the team to stay in contact and be far more efficient with radio communication now reaching the further points across the Estate.

We are delighted to have completed the Motorola digital upgrade for the team at Highclere and we look forward to supporting them over the coming months and beyond.
